Philip N. Castore passed away on April 13, 2022 in Allentown, PA at the age of 95.
Philip was born in Bellmore, New York and had one married sister Margaret Cerbone. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was part of Operation Crossroads in Bikini Atoll in 1946. Later he would be stationed in Roswell, New Mexico. After his time in the Air Force he returned home to Brooklyn, New York where he met and married his beloved wife Claire DeRosa. Together they had three children and settled on Long Island.
In 1980, Philip accepted a position with the Los Alamos National Laboratory where he worked as a machinist until his retirement. He continued to live in White Rock, New Mexico until May 2018 when he moved to Easton, PA to be closer to his family. Some of his favorite things besides family and friend gatherings were volunteering at the White Rock Senior Center, watching baseball especially the New York Yankees, swimming, dancing, playing cards, and working on projects in his home shop.
He is survived by his three children; daughter (Marie Castore), son (Philip Castore and spouse Kathy Vecchio) and daughter (Carolyn Valliere and spouse Roger Valliere) as well as three grandchildren, Julia Garf, Alison Moller, and Kathryn Valliere. He will be missed by many!
The family has chosen to make arrangements with Morello Funeral Home in Easton, PA. Contact 610-253-4941. A viewing will be held Friday from 6pm-8pm; Saturday from 1pm-4pm, and Monday from 8am-9:00am. Funeral Services at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The burial service will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York on April 18, 2022 at 12:30pm.
