Phillip Charles Louis Katz, 80, of Easton, PA, devoted husband and family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all his heart, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 in Easton Hospital.
Phillip was born in Easton, PA, a son of the late Phillip and Lenora (Dicker) Katz.
Phillip was a proprietor for Katz & Son Inc. Construction Company of Easton. He was a graduate of Easton High School, class of 1955. Phillip was married to the former Irene Rufe with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage last January 11. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War in the Sea Bees Construction Battalion RMCB21 BU1.
Phillip was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church; where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and Usher for his church for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Union Council 345 where he served as District Deputy. He was also a member of the Pope Pius the XII Assembly. He volunteered his time at CITs Carpentry Program andwas past president of Easton Midget Association.
In addition to his wife, Phillip is survived by his sons Michael Katz and wife Deborah of Telford, PA, Douglas Katz and wife Dawn of Kunkletown, PA, Phillip Katz Jr and wife Stephanie of Tatamy; daughters Laurie Phillips of Forks Twp. and companion William Tillman, Carla Abert and husband Scott of Forks Twp.; grandchildren Rebecca Fischer, Zachary, Michael, Rachel, Nicole, Jessica, Colin, Alyssa, Delana, Hannah, Hailey; great-grandchildren Connor and Cameron.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with an additional calling hour on Saturday from 8:45 am to 9:45 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 am in St. Jane Frances Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Palmer Twp. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.
