Phyllis Marie (Buenning) Rush, 95, formerly of Wilson Borough, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2022, at The Easton Home.  Born March 24, 1927 in Wilson, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Mabel (Ahern) Buenning.  Her beloved husband of 63 years, Donald E. Rush, passed away on February 11, 2011.

Phyllis was a graduate of Wilson High School, Class of 1944, where she was a majorette in the marching band and a member of the drama club.  She attended Cedar Crest College and was employed by the Baker Chemical Company, where she met her husband, Don.

Phyllis lived a long and happy life.  She had wonderful memories of growing up in Wilson and attending Liberty Elementary and Wilson High School. While raising her children, she was active in their education and was honored with a lifetime membership in the Pennsylvania PTA.  Phyllis especially enjoyed following local high school, college, and professional sports.  In 1991, she and her husband Don were honored by the Wilson High School athletic department for their loyal support of Warrior sports.

Phyllis was a loving and caring homemaker who especially enjoyed family gatherings and holiday celebrations.  She always looked forward to her family's annual summer vacation at the Jersey shore.  Phyllis loved her husband, her home, and her family.  She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Easton.  She was previously a long-time member of Memorial United Church of Christ in Wilson, where she taught Sunday School and was a dedicated member of the Pie Bakers group.

Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by her son, Donald Rush and his wife Linda, of Easton; her daughter Dorothy Goss and her husband Calvin, of Mars, Pa.; her son John Rush and his wife Marianne, of Easton.   She is also survived by her grandchildren, Natalie Harbin and husband David; Donald Rush and wife Katy; John Goss and wife Alaina; Sarah Poynton, widow of Tom; Kelly Swearingen and husband Shaun; Matthew Rush and wife Allison; and John Rush and wife Britney.  Also by her great-grandchildren Damon, Weston, Audrey, Anna, Charles, Thomas, Maddox, Calvin and Jonah.  In addition to her husband and parents, Phyllis was pre-deceased by her beloved sister, Barbara Buenning Creveling.

Phyllis' family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of The Easton Home as well as Ascend Hospice for the loving care they provided.  Please know that Phyllis appreciated you and loved you in return.  Phyllis was also extremely grateful for her many friends who brightened her day with their phone calls, cards, and visits.
