Name: Placida Calantoni 90, of Palmer Twp. passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 21, 2009 in St. Lukes VNA Hospice House, Bethlehem, PA Born: She was born on January 22, 1919 in Castel di Lucio, Sicily, Italy a daughter of the late Giuseppe Caterina Tita Amato. Personal: Placida was preceded in death by her husband Filippo Calantoni in 2000. She was employed by the former Joann Dress of Easton as a seamstress before retiring many years ago. Memberships: She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Easton. Placida was also a member of the Circolo San Placido Society in Easton. Survivors: Placida is survived by sons Placido and wife Maria Calantoni of Williams Twp., Joseph and wife Ruth Calantoni of Wind Gap; a daughter Josephine Calantoni of Palmer Twp; grandchildren Joseph, Philip, Vincenzo, Nicholas, Anthony, Theresa, Diana and great grandchildren Marco, Elena, Marissa and Benicio. A sister Maria Viglianti and brothers Francesco Amato, Placido Amato, Michele Amato and Antonino Amato preceded Placida in death. Services: Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 8:15am until 10:15am in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00am in St. Bernards Oratory, 132 So. 5th St. Easton. Entombment will be in St. Anthonys Mausoleum, Williams Twp.
