Raymond John Volkert, 69 of Bethlehem Twp., passed away Sunday April 17, 2016 in his home.

He was born on December 15, 1946 in Easton a son of the late Raymond L. and Louise Reinhardt Volkert.

Raymond was an auto enthusiast. He was the proprietor of Volkerts Texaco in Wilson Boro and later Ray Volkerts Automotive in Wilson Boro until his retirement in 2016. He was a graduate of Easton High School class of 1964.

Raymond was of the Catholic Faith. He also was a member of the Order of Fleas, The Liberty Hose, The Citizens Hose Co., Safety First Fire Co. and Avona Fire Co.

Raymond is survived by his son Raymond L. Volkert of Easton; daughters Patti J. Wood and husband Jeffrey of Nazareth, Heather L. Mosteller and husband Martin of Easton, Rachael A. Volkert of Bath; a sister Jane L. Volkert of Easton; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A calling hour will be held on Thursday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 2:00pm in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Josephs New Cemetery, Easton.
