Richard Assise, 78, of Easton, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 in St. Luke's Hospice House, surrounded by his family.
Richard was born on June 14, 1941 in Easton, PA, a son of the late Joseph Assise, Sr., and Mary (Scarlese) Assise.
Richard was married to his loving wife, the former Sandra Oliver with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage. He served in the United States Air Force for five years in the Civil Engineering Squadron during the Vietnam era. Richard worked as a Senior Draftsman at Ingersoll Rand for many years and later for Ecolaire, and lastly Allstom. He was a member of Unico.
In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by a daughter Tina and husband Jay; son Matthew and wife Cindy. He leaves behind the three lights of his life: granddaughters Brittani, Liana, and Marisa; a sister Frances and husband Joseph; a brother John Assise; a sister-in-law Jody Piagesi and husband Greg, and their son Nicco; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Frank, Pete, and Joseph; sisters Catherine and Rose.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp), followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.
