Richard "Rich" C. Hetzel of Easton, PA, 71, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, in St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson Campus. Born in Easton, he was the son of the late Elbert Elwood Hetzel, Sr. and Ruby A. (Walbert) Hetzel. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1969 and was a member of the Army Reserves. Until 2005, when he retired, Richard worked on the bridge crew for PA Department of Transportation.

He was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church. He also belonged to Brown and Lynch Post 9 of The American Legion in Palmer Twp. As an operator for many years, he enjoyed talking to others on the ham radio. Richard was a part of the American Radio Relay League and a member of Citizens Hose Company of Easton. He enjoyed camping with his family and friends and being outdoors. His favorite pastime was spent with his family and his loving wife, Danna (Cocco) Hetzel, whom he would have shared 49 years of marriage on May 26, 2022.

In addition to his wife, Danna, Richard is survived by his daughter, Richelle Clark and her husband, Dwayne Clark, Jr.; two sisters, Darlene Scheetz, Nancy Margeson; brother, Wayne Hetzel, Sr.; and two grandchildren, Georgia, and Austin. Richard was predeceased by a brother, Elbert "Butch" Elwood Hetzel, Jr.

Calling hours will be Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Morello Funeral Home, 3720 Nicholas Street Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.). A memorial service will follow in the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Richard's name to Brown and Lynch Post 9 of The American Legion, 2260 Corriere Road Easton, PA 18045.
