Obituary

Richard W. "Dick" Keifer, 79, of Greentown, PA and formerly of Forks Twp. passed away on July 7, 2024 at Gracedale Nursing Home. Born on April 24, 1945 in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late William & Emma (Sloyer) Keifer.

He graduated from Easton Area High School in 1963 and earned his Associate's Degree from Penn State. Dick served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard from 1965 to 1971. He was employed in the Purchasing Department at Mack Trucks in Allentown for 34 years ending his career as the Director of Purchasing. He was an active member of the Masons, Easton Lodge No. 152, American Legion, Golden Eagle NRA, and Valley of Allentown Scottish Rite. He was a founding member of Forks Township Emergency Squad.

Dick was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed boating, hunting and fishing. His treasured moments were spent with his grandchildren. He loved to travel and the last 17 years, he would enjoy a warm winter in Wildwood, Florida. In Florida, he belonged to First Christian Church, and served as a guardian of WWII Veterans for the Villages Honor Flights and was a member of the Honor Guard for the Continental Country Club Veterans.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Althea (Kleppinger) Keifer; daughters, Kristine Petre and husband, Reynold of Macungie; Cindy Jancsarics and husband, Joe of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Ashley Petre Kline and husband, Mathew of Macungie; Paul and Jared Petre of Macungie; Christian and Lauren Jancsarics of Bethlehem; brother, William Keifer of Nazareth.

In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his brother, David Keifer.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) An additional calling hour will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 9:30 am until 10:30 am followed by a funeral service at 10:30 am. Interment will be at Northampton Memorial Shrine, Green Pond Road, (Palmer Twp.)
