Richard M. Milberg

Richard M. Milberg, 79, of Palmer Twp., PA passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Anderson Campus. Born on August 11, 1946 in Miami, FL, he was the son of the late Jacob and Sadie (Barush) Milberg.

He graduated from Coral Gables High School in Florida. Richard furthered his education by earning his B.S. degree from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida, and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley. He was Director of the Mass Spectrometry Lab in the School of Chemical Sciences at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign when he retired.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Roberta Milberg; sister, Carol Goldman; nephews, Howard Goldman and his wife, Barbara; Michael Yagerman; nieces, Karen Lewis and her husband, Richard; Andrea Mayper and her husband, David; Marjorie Steffens and her husband, Michael; grand nephews, Aaron, Zachary, Robert, Stephen, Samuel; and sister-in-law, Christine Mach.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Yagerman.
