Richard Henry Sterner, 88, of Nazareth, PA, formerly of Wilson Boro, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020 in Alexandria Manor.

Richard was born in Easton, PA, a son of the late Henry and Hannah (High) Sterner.

Richard was married to the former Ida A. Stumbock, with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage last July 24. He was a graduate of Easton High School, and served in the US Air Force in Germany during the Korean War. Richard was an installer for Bell Telephone of Bethlehem until retiring in 1994 at the age of 62. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and civil war re-enactments.

Richard was a member of New Creation United Church of Christ in Palmer Twp., and was an assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America Troop #40 of Northampton for over 20 years.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his sons Ronald Sterner and companion Kathy Gangwer of Manville, NJ, Kenneth Sterner of Missouri; daughters Cynthia Snyder and husband David of Bangor, Susanne DeAngelo of Northampton; a sister Pearl Hause of NC; grandchildren Michael DeAngelo Jr and wife Dee of Stroudsburg, Christopher DeAngelo of Northampton,  Torrie Zapata and husband Santi of Wilson; great-grandchildren Damian, Benjamin, Luka, Scott, Cassandra, Vivian, and Michael III; and two nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother Robert Sterner; and a grandson George J. Borowski III.

A calling hour will be held on Monday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.), followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm in the funeral home.
