Rigoberto Bedoya, a man who represents all that is kind, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on June 29, 2020 after 82 years of living a life of example, patience, and generosity. Born in Ebejico, Colombia, and raised in Medellin along with his 10 brothers and sisters, Rigoberto met the love of his life Marina and after a whirlwind romance they purchased their first home in Bello where they would live, work and raise their first 6 children. In 1976, determined to give his family a better life, Rigoberto, a steadfast man who thrived in consistency and routine, took the greatest risk of his life. He immigrated from Bello, Antioquia to Easton, PA to take a job at McGinley Mills in Phillipsburg, NJ.  He worked tirelessly and in 1978 he successfully brought his six children to Easton. In 1981, he and Marina were blessed with their 7th oops, Jessica.

This small-town boy became a world traveler from Italy and Chile to China, he loved traveling with his family. But Rigoberto remained close to his small-town roots, and in his retirement years, he loved traveling to Colombia often to visit family and enjoy the eternal spring weather of Medellin.

Rigoberto had a giving heart and he helped people out whenever possible. He enjoyed listening to musica vieja, doing the daily wonder-word search, and sitting on his back porch enjoying the warm sun. The essence of his love for life was his family, his wife Marina, his 7 children:  Rigo Jr., Dora P. (Echeverri), Wilson, Janet, Alba Nury (Carollo), Ivan, and Jessica (Yung). His heart abounded with love and he called David and Alfredito sons. His life was full with 17 grandchildren and great-granddaughters Gabi and Brianna. Rigoberto faithfully attended births, birthdays, graduations, sports and everyday events with his grandkids.

Rigoberto cherished his friendships. His connections to people resulted in life long relationships that he nurtured over many years. With a zest for life that is incomparable, an inspirational love of family and friends, and a smile that could light up any room, Rigoberto leaves a legacy of charm, wit, graciousness, and optimism. And above all, love.

A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in Morello Funeral Home Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Mercy Parish at 132 S. Fifth Street, Easton. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp.

Rigoberto Bedoya, un hombre que representa todo el cariño del mundo, tranquilamente paso al cielo, rodeado de su familia el 29 de junio del 2020 a sus 82 años, después de vivir una vida íntegra, paciente y generosa. Nació en Ebéjico, Colombia y fue criado en Medellín, junto a sus 10 hermanos y hermanas. Rigoberto conoció el amor de su vida, Marina, y después compraron su primera casa en Bello, donde vivieron, trabajaron y criaron sus primeros 6 hijos. En 1976, Rigoberto determinado a darle a su familia una mejor vida, tomó el mayor riesgo de su vida. Inmigro desde Colombia hacía los Estados Unidos, donde se estableció en Easton, Pensilvania para tomar un trabajo con la empresa McGinley Mills en Phillipsburg, NJ. Trabajó incansablemente, y en 1978 pudo traer a sus 6 hijos y su esposa a los Estados Unidos. En 1981, él y Marina fueron bendecidos con su séptima maravilla, Jessica.

A pesar de ser de un pueblo pequeño, Rigoberto se convirtió en un viajero internacional. Desde Italia, a Chile, hasta la China, él amaba viajar con su familia. Rigoberto también se mantuvo muy cercano a sus raíces campesinas, y en sus años de jubilación, adoraba viajar frecuentemente a Colombia, para visitar familia y disfrutar de la Eterna Primavera de Medellín.

Rigoberto tenía un corazón generoso y solía ayudarle a la gente en todo lo posible. Disfrutaba escuchar música vieja, hacer la sopa de letras y sentarse en el patio para disfrutar el calor del sol. La esencia de su amor por la vida era su familia, su esposa Marina, sus 7 hijos: Rigo Jr., Dora P (Echeverri), Wilson, Janet, Alba Nury (Carollo), Ivan y Jessica (Yung). Su corazón estaba lleno de amor, y acogió a David y Alfredito como sus propios hijos. Su vida estaba llena de alegría con 17 nietos y dos bisnietas, Gabi y Brianna. Rigoberto sagradamente atendía nacimientos, cumpleaños, graduaciones, deportes y cualquier evento de sus nietos.

Rigoberto valoraba mucho a sus amistades. Su conexión con la gente resultaba en una relación de toda la vida que alimentaba y disfrutaba por muchos años. Con un placer incomparable por la vida y una sonrisa que iluminaba cualquier cuarto, Rigoberto deja un legado de encanto, humor, gracia y optimismo. Pero por encima de todo, Amor.
