Robert E. (Bob) Cwiekowski of Easton passed away at his home on May 2, 2025. He was a parishioner of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Roman Catholic Church. He served as Altar Server, Sacristan, and Eucharist Minister over the course of many years. Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as Treasurer for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 9.
Born on August 11, 1936 in Meriden, Connecticut to Ben and Catherine Cwiekowski, Bob attended St. Stanislaus Parochial School and Meriden High School. During high school and college, he worked with his uncle in his uncle's bakery, but most especially with his father as a carpenter. With his father, Bob helped to build the family home in Meriden, Connecticut. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut. While at UConn, Bob participated in R.O.T.C. Upon graduation, he received a commission in the U.S. Army Reserve. He served as Company Commander in the Army Reserves and retired as a Captain.
Bob began his professional career in the Accounting Department at Underwood Typewriter in Hartford, Connecticut. He transitioned to information technology while at Lightolier in Jersey City, New Jersey before moving to Ingersoll-Rand and Ingersoll-Dresser Pumps in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, where he retired as Manager, Information Systems.
Bob loved to cook and enjoyed well-prepared meals. He was a lifelong UConn basketball fan and an avid Red Sox fan. He enjoyed international travel during his career and leisure travel, making several trips to Tasmania, Australia to visit family. His beloved Staś, a golden retriever, kept him company for many years. Bob had a self-giving generosity that showed itself in many ways, especially in his preparing for weekday Masses at St. Jane's Parish, bringing the Eucharist to shut-ins for many years, and in his willingness to help others in all sorts of ways.
Bob had strong family ties with his parents and siblings and his family. He loved spending time with his sons playing golf and enjoying a relaxing time at Cape Cod. He was always very interested in their careers and very supportive of them and their children. He is survived by his sons, Robert of Gilbert, AZ, and Michael of Shorewood, MN; grandchildren Allyson of Chandler, AZ; Kelli of Colorado Springs, CO; Ben and Evan Cwiekowski of Shorewood, MN; and Cecily Smith of Sheboygan, WI; great grandchildren Blake, Quinn and Hudson; his twin brother the Reverend Frederick J. Cwiekowski, P.S.S., of Catonsville, MD; his sister, Judith Slisz, of Cheshire, CT; his dear friend, Patti Piperata of Easton; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Kathleen Bobbi, of Tasmania, Australia. He is dearly loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all.
Calling hours are scheduled from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) An additional calling hour will be at the funeral home on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. preceding a Mass and celebration of his life at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Roman Catholic Church.
