Robert Reiss Dedert

Robert Reiss Dedert passed away on September 1st, in Bethlehem, PA. He was born in Harvey, Illinois on June 8th, 1931, the son of William Reiss Dedert and Elizabeth Hamilton Boehm. He earned a bachelors degree in electrical engineering from Rose Polytechnic Institute (now Rose Hulman), where he played on the varsity basketball team and was member of Sigma Nu fraternity. After serving in the US Army in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, he worked for many years for Allen Bradley Company, taking early retirement to open his own engineering company, Engineered Systems Inc. He later went on to found Sytrex Systems, Inc. Bob was married to Myla Jean Turpen for 58 years until her passing in 2012. He was an avid tennis player, a private pilot, an excellent bridge player, and an RV enthusiast who especially enjoyed RV travels with family to visit distant friends and relatives.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Patricia Dedert and husband Michiel Ultee; daughter, Donna Dedert-Clark; son, James Dedert and wife Cindy; son, Carl Dedert and wife Yan; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Ultee, Timothy Ultee and wife Carly, Brittany Clark, Samuel and RJ Dedert, Austin and Colin Dedert, Mengjin Sun; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, William George Dedert.

A calling hour will be held at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St., Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.), Wednesday from 10 am -11 am, followed by a service at the funeral home. Interment will be private in Bethlehem Memorial Park, Linden St., Bethlehem PA.
