Robert "Bob" Joseph DeFilippo, 77, of Forks Twp., PA, formerly of Lanoka Harbor, NJ, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg.

Robert was born in Jersey City, and raised in Bayonne NJ, a son of Maria (DeChiaro) DeFilippo of Delancey, NY, and the late Salvatore DeFilippo.

Robert was married to the former Lee Ann VanVoorhies, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on May 24. He was a graduate of Bayonne High School, class of 1960; and attended Rutgers University. Robert was a main-frame programmer for AT&T in Piscataway, NJ; Continental Insurance Co. of Neptune, NJ for sixteen years; and lastly at Computer Aid Inc., of Allentown, working out of Hackettstown, NJ for ten years until retiring in 2003. He was active at Jacob's Farm Senior Living Community, was an avid golfer and Bocce player; loved baseball and was a NY Yankees fan. He ran several marathons including the New York City marathon and Jersey Shore marathon. At the age of 68, he was the recipient of the Joslin Diabetes Medal for having survived 50 years with type 1 Diabetes, and having a very successful life.

In addition to his mother and wife, Robert is survived by a son Derek R. DeFilippo and wife Amie McLaughlin of Bethlehem; a daughter Audrey Egan and husband Robert of Newtown, CT; a sister Connie Lukac and husband Steven of Delancey, NY; a brother Salvatore DeFilippo and wife Rita of Toms River, NJ; grandchildren Camryn and Kenley; nephews Austin, Tyler; nieces Tammy, Sara; and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.). Due to COVID-19, we still need to practice social distancing, therefore, we will be limiting visitation to 25 rotating people at a time in the funeral home. Funeral services will be private.
