Robert F. Edelen, 71, of Palmer Twp., PA passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. Born on April 12, 1955 he was the son of the late Ruric Edelen and Lela (Criner) Cerra. He was raised in Goodyear Heights, OH by his mother and his late step-father, Nathan Cerra, who was a loving and influential father figure throughout his life.
He was a retired draftsman for Foster, Wheeler and Babcock and Wilcox.
Robert enjoyed watching science fiction (Star Wars), football and racing. He often enjoyed fishing, and from time to time a good political conversation.
While he may not have been one for having his own picture taken, he loved being behind the camera, capturing the laughter, love, and special moments shared with those around him.
Robert met his beloved wife, in late 1979. For them, it was love at first sight. After two and a half years together, they were married. He was a devoted family man who always put his family first. He cherished the times when everyone could gather together, whether it was for a simple pizza night, a holiday meal, or just to spend time together.
Robert shared a very special and unique relationship with each of his children and grandchildren. He took the time to recognize and appreciate their individual personalities, interests, and passions. He was always supportive of the things that brought joy to his beloved family. He was proud of each of them and loved watching them grow into the people they were meant to be. More than anything, Robert found happiness in being surrounded by his family and creating memories that they will treasure.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Jewell (Stults) Edelen; son, Robert Edelen II; daughters, Heather Edelen, Monica Edelen-Miller and husband, Charles; siblings, Darlene Biller and husband, Bud, Peggy Broger and husband, Richard, Richard Edelen and wife, Mary, Ronald Edelen and wife, Debbie, Sandra Cutting and husband, Gerald; grandchildren, Peyton, Leah Francis, Chase, Sage, Aurora, Cora, Skylar, and Rylee.
