Rev. Robert R. Fagan, 80, of Easton, passed away on Tuesday, June 5th, at Holy Family Villa for Priests, where he resided.
Born : Fr. Fagan was born in Philadelphia, PA, a son of the late Maurice and Anna Fagan.
Personal: Fr. Fagan was a Priest for the Diocese of Allentown. He attended St. Matthew Parochial School, Northeast Catholic High School, and St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, all in Philadelphia. He was ordained a priest on May 15, 1958 in the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by Cardinal John OHara, CSC. He had a fellowship to Boston University sponsored by General Electric in the summer of 1969.
He served as an Associate Pastor at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Minersville, PA from 1958-1959. He taught at Allentown Central Catholic High School from 1959 - 1969. He served as Pastor at Holy Family Church, New Philadelphia from 1969 - 1982, Pastor at St. Jerome Church, Tamaqua from 1982 - 2000, Senior Priest at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Easton from 2000 - 2002, and Senior Priest at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church, Palmer Twp. from 2002 - 2010.
Memberships: Fr. Fagan was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #345, and Pius XII Assembly.
Survivors: Fr. Fagan is preceded in death by his sisters Dolores Schmittinger, Anna Mae Gallagher, Rose Fagan, Mary Trunfio, Mildred Howarth, Rita Morris; brothers Christopher Fagan and Maurice Fagan Jr.
Services: Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 7th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and also Friday, June 8th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Easton, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by The Most Rev. John O. Barres, Bishop of Allentown, on Friday, June 8th at 11:00 am in the church. Interment will be on Saturday, June 9th at 10:00 am in St. Dominic Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA. Arrangements are under the direction of Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton PA (Palmer Twp). Online condolences may be offered at www.morellofuneralhome.com
