Obituary

Robert W. Kosman, esquire passed, relaxed of mind, body and spirit on November 20, 2014 in Easton Hospital with his loved ones at his side. The son of Wilfred R. and Lillian Kunkel Kosman, Robert was born in Allentown September 2, 1955 and grew up a Konkrete Kid in Northampton, PA. He is survived by his mother, and sister, Linda Miller, wife of Chris Miller, also of Northampton. Elizabeth Chronister, his companion in life, shared the joy raising granddaughter Sarah Chronister Volturo, wife of Frank Volturo. His pet children Jeff, Kitty, Libby and Sally, kept watch over him and gave him great joy. Bob was a BA graduate of Penn State 1977, having served an internship with Mack Trucks UAW Local 677. He decided to attend Temple Law while working full-time at the Phoebe Home, and was graduated 1987 with Distinctive Classroom Performance in Trial Advocacy and Civil Rights of the Handicapped. He represented SEPTA Local 234 as an associate with Brodie and Rubinsky, Philadelphia. Since 2001 he has been a Special Assistant US Attorney representing the Commission of Social Security 3rd and 4th Circuit Courts of Appeal US Supreme Court with citations on record there as representative counsel. He was an accepted admittant before the US Supreme Court. Robert made such a difference in all our lives as a kind, loving friend and guide in all things. We trusted his judgment, treasured his honesty and compassion and shared in his love for natures outdoors, especially the woods beaches of Northern Michigan. He embraced his work with great dedication (too much so) and did so while fighting long battles with cancer. He won them all and is now safe.
