Robert J. Merlo, 86, of Wind Gap, PA, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 in Slate Belt Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Robert was born on January 8, 1931 in Easton, PA, a don of the late Serafino Charles and Serafina (Valerio) Merlo.

Robert retired in 1992 from Ingersoll Rand in Phillipsburg, NJ after 38 years. He served his country four years with the US Air Force. He was a 1949 graduate of Easton Catholic High School and is enshrined in their Basketball Hall of Fame. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Eagles.

Robert was a member of the former St. Rocks Church of West Bangor.

Robert is survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers Charles, Vito, Thomas and Anthony; and a sister Frances Smith.
