Obituary

Robert Leroy Quick, 79, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love – just as he lived his life.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia he was a son of the late William and Madge (McClanan) Quick.

Robert spent part of his childhood in South America due to his father's career as a pilot. After his parents' separation, Robert lived with his paternal uncle James Quick and his wife Jaqueline (Garon) Quick in Michigan. Robert graduated from Marine City High School in 1958.  He attended Eastern Michigan University where he studied literature, ran track, and was a gymnast. After college, he enlisted in the United States Army National Guard and was federalized during the Detroit Riots in 1967 before being honorably discharged in 1969. He began his long and illustrious career at Dun & Bradstreet as a reporter in Detroit and was a nationally recognized salesman and marketing sales manager for almost 50 years before retiring to spend more time with his family and hobbies including reading, puttering around the yard, antiquing, the stock market, and spoiling his family. He enjoyed good food, good scotch, not-so-good wine, and quiet evenings at home watching television – especially the Phillies. Utterly selfless, fiercely loyal, and extremely generous, Robert loved surprising his loved ones with gifts and gestures big and small. His thoughtfulness was legendary, and his family is very grateful for the example he set and the man that he was. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him including his rescue dog Jaxx whom he spoiled with bones.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years Barbara (Ornato) Quick, whom he doted on; his daughters Jodi Quick Schell and husband Joseph "Chip" Schell II, Jacki Quick Russo and husband Michael; adored and adoring grandchildren Ayden, Agia, Amari, and Grayson; a sister Judith Quick Jeffries; a brother James Quick; and mother figure Jaqueline Quick.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). The family requests all who wish to honor Robert, do so with a contribution to the charity of their choice or by surprising a loved one with a thoughtful gift or gesture.
