Deacon Robert W. Rodgers, 79, of Easton, PA, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2022, in his home. He was born on December 16, 1942 to the late Hubert and Florence (Fehr) Rodgers of Easton, PA.

He attended Palmer Elementary School and was a graduate of Wilson High School, class of 1960. He worked in quality control for Mack Printing, the Prudential Insurance Company, in the purchasing department of Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown, and was chaplain of Easton Hospital.

Robert was ordained a permanent deacon in the Diocese of Allentown in May, 1990. His service included work at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church and Northampton County Prison. For over 20 years, he coordinated a Christmas Project called "Angel Tree" through which children of prisoners were provided with Christmas gifts. He also coordinated monthly Baptism Workshops.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 345. He loved biking, fishing, skiing, reading, gardening, building 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzles, NASCAR, car shows, and vacationing at the beach.

Robert was predeceased by his first wife Roberta Barrett.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Teresa, a daughter, Christine Johnstone and partner Bill VanManen, granddaughters Chloe and Tory Johnstone of Ontario, Canada, a sister, Shirley Case of Washington, NJ, a brother, Charles and his wife Chris of Wind Gap, PA, a sister-in-law, Diane Demko of Bethlehem Twp, PA, nephew, Kevin Demko and his wife Stephanie; nieces, Melissa DeStefano and her husband, Russell, of Pottstown, PA Elizabeth Falcone and her husband, Michael, of Palmer Twp., PA and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Evelyn and brother in laws Stan Galbreath and Ed Case.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc, 3720 Nicholas St. Easton (Palmer Twp.), PA 18045 and also on Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 24, 2022 in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church 4049 Hartley Ave, Palmer Twp., PA. Interment will be private.
