Robert Ryan Rute, 48, of Easton, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in Manor Care Nursing Home.

Robert was born in Easton, PA, a son of Linda (Willever) Cavanaugh of Easton, and the late Gary Robert Rute, Sr.

Robert is a graduate of Easton High School, class of 1987. He graduated from Northampton Community College in 1992; and Churchman Business School in 2001, where he earned his Associates Degree. Robert was a construction worker and Co-Manager for Hobby Shop.

He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

In addition to his mother, Linda Cavanaugh and husband William Cavanaugh, Jr. of Palmer Twp., a step-father David Strahler and fianc Ellen of Hawley, PA, and a step-mother Dottie Pettit Rute of Bethlehem Twp., Robert is survived by his girlfriend Ashley Landis of Coplay; a brother Gary Rute Jr of Palmer Twp.; a half-brother James Pettit of Bethlehem; step-brothers Scott Strahler and wife Joelle of Allentown, and William Cavanaugh III and fianc Loren of Bedminster, NJ; a step-sister Tracey Willis and husband Leland of Florida; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brothers Eric Rute, and Jason Rute, a step-sister Holly Cavanaugh and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will be held in Easton Heights Cemetery.
