Obituary

Name: Rose J. Mentesana, 91, of Easton, PA, went to meet her Lord on Monday, September 25th in Easton Hospital. Born: Rose was born on August 1, 1920, in Easton, PA, a daughter of the late Vincent and Jennie Crescitelli Monaco. Orphaned as a child, Rose lived with relatives in New York and Pennsylvania, finding a permanent residence in the home of Domenic and Anna Tanzella and their children. Personal: She was preceded in death by her beloved huband Frank Mentesana, with whom she celebrated 61 years of marriage. She was a co-proprietor of Franks Corner Store in Wilson Borough. She retired from A & H Sportswear and also worked for Equitable Insurance Co., Easton. Rose devoted her life to family, and enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren. She especially loved to cook Italian specialties for them. Roses hobbies were playing Bingo, bowling and playing pinochle with her friends and cousins. Memberships: Rose was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, past President of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality, ILGWU Unite, and the Ambassador Club of St. Pauls III Lutheran Church in Palmer. Survivors: Rose is survived by a son Anthony Mentesana and his wife Barbara of Chesapeake, VA; daughters Rosemarie Mentesana of Upper Macungie, Jeanne Dold and her husband Thomas of Palmer Twp.; granddaughters Linda and husband Tom Cox, Sarah and husband Todd Tillery, Jennifer Tersigni, and Jynelle and husband Peter Sass; great-grandchildren Jared and Justin Cox, Lauren, Parker and Paige Tillery, and Francis Sass. She was very fond of her nephew Nick and nieces Rosalie and Chris. She is preceded in death by a brother Joseph Monaco. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th & Lehigh Street, Easton, PA. Interment will be at Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp. Arrangements are under the direction of Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) Memorial Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Roses memory to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 900 Washington Street, Easton, PA 18042 or to St. Judes Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
