Obituary

Rose T. Symia , 82, of Palmer Twp., PA, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013 in St. Lukes Hospice House. Born : Rose was born in Easton, PA, a daughter of the late Merhej and Anna (Koury) Sassine. Personal : Rose is preceded in death by her husband of 22 years Anthony J. Symia, before his passing in 1972. She was a graduate of Easton Catholic High School, class of 1948. She was employed as a griller for the McDonald Corporation, owned by Mr. Charles McIntyre at 3rd Street in Easton before retiring in 1998. She was a devoted Wife, Mother and Sitto. Rose was a woman of great faith in God with a daily devotion to the Blessed Mother. Memberships : Rose was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, and St. Theresa Sodality of the church. She was a very respected and loved member of Our Lady of Lebanon Parish. Survivors : Rose is survived by her sons Elias A. Symia and wife Dr. Charlene Symia of Forks Twp.; Samuel J. Symia of Palmer Twp., with whom she resided; Leonard J. Symia and wife Lisa of Stockertown; daughters, Tara J. Simonetta of Easton; Irene J. Symia of Easton; Ann Marie Kostura of Palmer Twp.; a sister, Chames Warner of Forks Twp.; grandchildren Philip, Tyra, Joseph, Elise, Antonina, Tony, Michael, Edriana, Erica, Rosie, Marissa, Anthony; great-grandchildren Aiden, Jake, George, Ellie, Rowen Rose, and Sofia. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a sister Georgette Ciambrone; brothers George and John Boulos. Services: Calling hours will be held on Monday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm with Prayer of the Incense at 8 pm in Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 4th & Ferry Streets, Easton, PA, and also Tuesday from 8:45am to 9:45 am in the church, followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am. Interment will be held in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). Memorial Contributions : Contributions in Roses memory may be made to Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 55 South 4th Street, Easton, PA 18042.
