Obituary

Rosemary Yvonne(née Scarano) DeMenno, 89, of Easton, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at ManorCare West Allen, Allentown, PA.

She was born in Easton, PA, a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Philomena (ServiDio) Scarano.

Rosemary was married for 36 years to her beloved E. Donald DeMenno, Sr., until his passing in 1992. She enjoyed spending time with her extended family and grandchildren, cooking, sewing, listening to Frank Sinatra, going to the theater, playing cards, and going down the shore annually to Wildwood Crest and Cape May, NJ.

She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Easton, PA. Rosemary cooked delicious meals for the priests there for many years on her weekends. Her husband did the shopping and she did the cooking. They were a true team in everything they did. Rosemary was also well-known for heading up the pastry stand at St. Anthony of Padua's Annual Festa Italiana for more than 30 years.

Rosemary is survived by a son E. Donald "Don" DeMenno and wife Jacquelyn of Emmaus; daughters Tracy Burns and husband Frank of Coopersburg; Beth Hirst and husband David of Baltimore, MD; Rosemary DeMenno of Washington, DC; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Michelle DeMenno, and seven siblings – Martha Agretto, Dominick Anthony (D.A.) Scarano, Teresa (Tess) Azzalina, Catherine (Kitty) Williams, Antoinette (Toni) Parino, Anthony Scarano, and Michael Scarano.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9 th & Lehigh Streets, Easton, PA. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Williams Twp. Mass will be livestreamed at this address and requires a Facebook account.
