Obituary

Ruben Figueroa, Jr., 67, of Palmer Twp. passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Born on November 26, 1955 in Perth Amboy, NJ, he was the son of Aida Marrero-Padilla and the late Ruben Figueroa, Sr.

Ruben was a veteran who served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War after high school. Ruben worked as a corrections officer at Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center in North Brunswick, NJ until his retirement. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1360, also specialist for a special task unit. Ruben was a professional musician percussionist and preformed with his band on occasions. His favorite past time was spent with family and friends.

Along with his mother, Ruben is survived by his sister, Emely J. Padilla; his nieces, Enjolic, Amanda and Aida Padilla; many cousins and friends; his best friend, Magali Figueroa; and his faithful dog, Dallas.

In addition to his father, Ruben was preceded in death by his brother, Rafael Padilla and his other faithful dog, Emma.

Ruben Figueroa, Jr., 67, of Palmer Township, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Born on November 26, 1955 in Perth Amboy, NJ.

He was the son of Aida Marrero-Padilla and the late Ruben Figueroa, Sr.

Ruben was a veteran who served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War after high school. Ruben worked as a Corrections Officer at Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center in North Brunswick, NJ until his retirement. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1360. Ruben enjoyed music and playing the drums with his friends. His favorite pass time was spent with family and friends at The Brook.


Along with his mother, Ruben is survived by his sister, Emely J. Padilla; his best friend and partner, Magali Figueroa; Goddaughters/nieces Aida, Amanda; sister-in-law, Judith Padilla; cousins and many friends; and his faithful dog, Dallas.

In addition to his father, Ruben was preceded in death by his brother, Rafael Padilla and his other faithful dog, Emma.
