Obituary

Samuel R. Sanguinito, 96, of Easton, PA passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 in New Eastwood surrounded by his loving family.

Samuel was born in Easton, PA, a son of the late Salvatore and Concetta (Concare) Sanguinito.

Samuel was married to the love of his life Josephine (Puccio) Sanguinito for 69 years, before her passing in 2013. Sam worked at Treadwell Engineering for 33 years, retiring in 1977.

Samuel served in the United States Army during WWII, European theatre, and was honorably discharged in 1945. Some of the awards that Samuel received in the U.S. Army were, Combat Infantry badge, Purple Heart medal, Bronze Star medal, World War II Victory medal, Army good conduct medal, World War II honorable discharge lapel pin, Marksman weapon qualification badge, American Campaign medal WWII, European African- Middle Eastern campaign medal, and the World War II Army of occupational service medal. Sam was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, in Easton. He also was a member of VFW Post 1290, American Legion Lester Pfeiffer Post 611, Purple Heart Association, and Disabled Veterans Association.

Samuel is survived by his sons, Samuel C. Sanguinito and his wife Dorothy, of Plainfield twp., Charles J. Sanguinito and his wife Rosemarie, of Palmer Twp., sister Jennie Rose, of Cherry Hill, NJ, 3 grandchildren, Michele Kootsares and her husband Cory, Jessica Sanguinito Patel and her husband Dipesh, and Rachel Sanguinito, 2 great grandchildren, Tanner Kootsares and Ryan Patel. In addition to Samuels parents and wife he is preceded in death by his sister Marie Sanguinito and his brother Richard Sanguinito.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Morello Funeral Home, Inc. 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.). Additional calling hour will be held on Wednesday from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, at 9th and Lehigh Street, in Easton. Entombment will follow in St. Anthonys Cemetery, Williams Twp.
