Sandra F. Sundstrom, 77, of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 1, 2024 surrounded by her family. Born on August 31, 1946, in Easton, PA, she was the daughter of James and Lucy (Pelonero) Patti. She graduated from Easton Area High School in 1964 and earned her Associate's Degree from Allentown Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as an LPN for over 30 years for Easton Visiting Nurse Association, where she touched the lives of countless patients with her compassion and attentive care. She was a member of St. Philip & St. James Church in Phillipsburg.
Sandra was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as cooking, baking, sewing, and gardening. She enjoyed dining out with cherished friends, beloved cousins, and former coworkers. She loved traveling with her husband to Cape May, NJ and sharing beach/lake vacations with her family. Sandra's greatest joy was found in the company of her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply; spending precious moments baking banana bread, reading, and playing board games. Her compassionate nature, marked by kindness and selflessness, touched the lives of all who knew her. Sandra will be dearly missed by her family and friends, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever remain in their hearts.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, David Sundstrom; daughters, Elissa Manlove and husband, Michael of Easton; Amy Karpinski and husband, Adam of Doylestown; Christina Roderer and husband, Richard of Bethlehem; sisters, Carol Sagazio and husband, Alfred of Palmer Twp.; Jackie Klaver and husband, Steven of Palmer Twp.; sister-in-law Helen Savino and husband Ron of Simsbury, CT; grandchildren, Jordan, Faith, Michael, Nate, Noah, Richie, Sofie and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law Christopher Sundstrom of Jackson, WY.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10:30 am at St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, 430 South Main Street, Phillipsburg, NJ. Interment will be on Saturday, April 20th, 2024 at 11:00 am at Northampton Memorial Shrine, Green Pond Road, Palmer Twp.
