Santo Sam P. Azzalina, 90, of Palmer Twp., PA, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in his home. Born: Sam was born in Phillipsburg, NJ, son of the late Salvatore and Rosaria Azzalina. Personal: Sam was married to the former Geneva Scingo. He was a proprietor for National Catering Inc. of Easton for many years, prior to that he was employed by Joes Market and Ingersoll Rand of Phillipsburg, NJ. Sam served in the US Army during World War II as a Cannoneer. He served in the European Theatre where he received 5 Battle Stars for Battles in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Memberships: Sam was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, the American Legion, and the VFW. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Sam is survived by a son Samuel A. Azzalina and wife Renee of Greensboro NC.; sisters Anne French of Bethlehem Twp., Mary Bastinelli of Bethlehem Twp.; grandchildren Sammy and Marissa Azzalina. He is preceded in death by sisters Angie Fritzo and Josephine Fatta; brothers Thomas, Joseph, and Charlie Azzalina. Services: Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and also on Monday from 8:15 am to 9:15 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th & Lehigh Streets, Easton. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.
