Obituary

Shane Jay Lamas, 51, of Easton, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025. Born in Easton on November 8, 1973, he was a dedicated and loving son of Cynthia (Shriver) and Alan Luckenbach.

Shane graduated from Easton High School. He earned a Bachelors in psychology from Moravian University, where he played football and earned lifelong friends. He continued his studies at East Stroudsburg University earning his Masters in Special Education. Shane worked as a Special Education Teacher for the Easton Area School District, where he was overworked and underpaid for the amount of stress that he was put through, although he loved his coworkers and most of his students. Thank your teachers. Really, thank your teachers. They put so much more into their titles than you know. They are teachers, they are moms and dads, they are friends, they are advocates, they are peace makers, they are punching bags, they are security guards, they are relationship counselors, they are body guards, they are secretaries, they are case managers, they are providers of lunch money, and clothing and pencils and listening ears. Shane was ALL of those. He was one of the best. He was also a football coach for Palisades High School and most recently, Easton High School. His compassion, dedication, and commitment to his students and players made a lasting impact on the lives he touched. To know Shane was to love Shane. He was a gentle giant who was known for going above and beyond for anyone he came in contact with-friends, family, co-workers, students and players. Most of all, Shane loved being a dad. His children ARE his greatest pride and joy, and will continue to be as he watches over them while they continue to grow into the amazing humans that he was raising them to be. Everything he did was for his family. He loved nothing more than listening to Sawyer play his music, letting Piper do his hair and beard and sharing a love of "making things" with Cooper. His favorite things to do were listening to Sawyer play his music and watching the kids swim. He would often tear up watching them at meets. His happiness for them and pride in them was overwhelming. He took Coop for his first tattoo, shook his head in amazement and amusement as Sawyer tinkered away at his computer all over the kitchen island and did his special handshake with Piper-every morning and every night. He set up a candlelit dinner for Jenna in the middle of his hospital stay last summer-complete with music, hospital food for two and fake flame. He was the coolest Dada and the sweetest husband a family could hope for-the truest example of a provider of stability, love and understanding. He was also a member of the Schoolman's Association, where he loved seeing EASD school teachers past and present and talking about how the district has changed over the years and catching up on their families. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, through the good times and the bad.

He is survived by his adoring Sweetie of 17 years, Jenna (Farina) Lamas; his awesome children, Cooper, Sawyer, and Piper Lamas; brothers, Jason Lamas and his partner, Stephanie Moll; and Nathan Lamas and his partner, Susan Shannon. He is predeceased by his birth father, William Lamas. Shane will be so greatly missed by everyone-especially his in-laws, Robin and Ann Farina, who always liked him best; his brother in-laws, Matthew Farina and his wife Ashley and Frank Grillo and his wife Tara (Farina) Grillo. They will continue to battle Eagles vs. Cowgirls in his honor. There are just too many nieces and nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles to name, but you know who you are and he loved you all so much! Family was everything to Shane and he cherished his.
