Nicholas A. Callie, Sr., 90, passed away Sunday February 18, 2018 at Manor Care Health Services-Easton. He was the husband of the late Sarah (Torcivia) Callie who passed away in 2002.
Nicholas was born in Bangor, PA to the late Nicholas and Josephine Callie.
Nicholas was a truck driver for Victualic and previously Quaker State Dye Co. He is also a retired Insurance Agent for Home Life Insurance. Nicholas was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Easton and was also inducted into the Lehigh Valley Sports Hall of Fame as a fast pitch softball pitcher. He graduated from Easton High School in 1944. He also served in the United States Military as a Merchant Marine.
Nicholas is survived by a son, Henry R. Callie and wife Angela; a daughter Rory Hepp and husband Joseph; four grandchildren, Callie Donaldson and husband Drew, Lisa Callie, Maria Callie, Sara Callie; two great grandchildren Kinzie and Sawyer Donaldson; two sisters, Josephine Kovacs and Angie Scagliotta and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Nicholas is preceded in death by his son Nicholas Jr., three sisters; Virginia Callie, Christina Radogna and Mary Jane Spaziani.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street (Palmer Twp.). An additional calling hour will be held Thursday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am with an 11:00 am Prayer Service to follow at the Funeral Home. A Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Northampton Memorial Shrine. Online condolences may be offered at www.morellofuneralhome.com.
