Obituary

Name: John J. Hummer, Sr., 75 of Palmer Twp. passed away Saturday December 26, 2009 surrounded by his loving family in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born: He was born on May 22, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY a son of the late Frank and Louise Cestaro Hummer. Personal: John was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie C. Hummer in 2008. He was an avid Mets and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. A major importance in his life was his family, including his grandchildren and great grandchildren and his beloved Chevy Impala. He was employed as an electrician for the former Ingersoll Rand Co. retiring in 1996 after 40 years of employment. John was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School class of 1953. He proudly served our country in the US Navy on the USS 1156 Terrebonne Parish during Peacetime. Memberships: John was a member of St. Jane Frances De Chantal Catholic Church in Palmer Twp. He also was a former member of the Steel Workers 5503 in Phillipsburg, NJ. Survivors: John is survived by his sons John J. Hummer, Jr. of Phillipsburg, NJ, Kevin M. Hummer of Forks Twp.; his daughters Teresa Rissmiller and husband William of Palmer Twp., Carol A. DeLuca and husband Roland, Jr. of Palmer Twp.; sisters Grace Kunsman of Bedford, PA, RoseAnn Walz of Nazareth, PA; a brother Michael Hummer and wife Dawn of Walhalla, SC; grandchildren Jourdon M. Hummer and wife Judy, January M. Hummer and significant other Michael Middlebrooke, Jared F. Hummer, Joel F. Hummer, Kyle Rissmiller, Chad Rissmiller, Roland J. DeLuca III, Amanda N. DeLuca, Kasey Lynn Hummer, Matthew Ryan Hummer, Emily Rose Hummer, Gabrielle Claire Hummer; great grandchildren Bria Ketchledge, Logan Hummer, Macey Middlebrooke, Nathan Hummer and many nieces and nephews. Services: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 8:30am until 10:30am in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00am in the church, 4049 Hartley Ave. Palmer Twp. Entombment will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Alpha, NJ.
