Alfred J. Manento Sr., 72, of Palmer Twp., PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in Easton Hospital. Alfred was born in Roseto, PA, a son of the late Dominic and Jennie (Nittle) Manento. Alfred was married to the former Rose Marie Piro, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage last June 20. He was an Import Manager for Hoffman LaRoche of Belvidere, NJ, and Nutley, NJ before retiring in 1995. Prior to that, he worked at the former J.T. Baker Chemical in Phillipsburg, NJ. Alfred was a graduate of Wilson High School, class of 1960. He served in the US Air Force during peacetime. He volunteered for Suburban EMS, was President of St. Anthonys ASPO, and volunteered as chairman of the FESTA. Alfred was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and St. Anthonys Holy Name Society. In addition to his wife, Alfred is survived by his sons Alfred J. Manento, Jr and wife Patti of Palmer Twp., Joseph A. Manento and wife Heather of Naples, FL, Samuel J. Manento of Palmer Twp.; a brother Gus Manento and wife Vincenza of Forks Twp. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and also on Monday from 8:45 am to 9:45 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 am in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th & Lehigh Street, Easton, PA. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp.
