Joseph P. Platia, Sr., formerly of Wilson Boro, PA, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 in Florida. Born: Joseph was born in Easton, PA, a son of the late Salvatore and Angeline (Goffredo) Platia. Personal: Beginning in the 1950s, Joseph was a self-employed electrical mechanic at Platias Auto, Fuel and Electrical, before retiring in 1986. He was a Korean War Veteran. Joseph was a selfless man, and enjoyed helping friends with projects. Memberships: He was a member of the American Legion in Florida. Survivors: Joseph is survived by a son Joseph P. Platia, Jr. of Wilson Boro.; a daughter Lisa Delano and husband John of Summit, NJ; grandchildren Gabrielle and Danielle. He is preceded in death by a sister Connie Merlo. Services: A gathering will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Easton, PA.
