Born: Donald was born in Effort, PA, a son of the late Earl and Beatrice (Bond) Shafer, Sr. Personal: Donald was married to the former Antonette Barrese before her passing in 1989. He was a graduate of Easton High School, class of 1952. He was a truck driver for the former Bickleys Auto Express, before retiring in 1988. Memberships: Donald was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and the Teamsters Union. Survivors: Donald is survived by his sons Donald G. Shafer, Jr and wife Jean of Nazareth, Earl Shafer of Palmer Twp., Joseph Shafer of Palmer Twp.; a sister Eleanor Williams of Pensacola, FL; a brother Lee Shafer of Arizona; grandchildren Michael J. Shafer, Caitlin A. Shafer; great-grandchildren Sadie Shafer, and Bradley Shafer. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by a sister Mary Werkeiser, and a brother Earl Shafer, Jr. Services: A calling hour will be held on Saturday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.), followed by a funeral service at 12:30 pm in the funeral home.
