Stanley J. Malina, 79, of Wilson Borough, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19 at Arden Courts with family.
Born on September 10, 1944, in Ashley, Pennsylvania, Stanley was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Migdal) Malina.
He is survived by Helen (Weiss) Malina, his wife of 56 years; his daughter Kimberly (Malina) Brown, son-in-law Daniel Brown, of Bethlehem Township; son Brian Malina and grandson Benjamin Malina, of Palmer Township; sister Margaret Verfin, of Orefield; and numerous nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Stanley was an avid fly fisherman, meticulously crafting his own flies for fishing trips around the country including Alaska, Utah and Maine. He enjoyed woodworking and home improvement projects.
He attended Marymount High School in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and Dyke College in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduation he joined the 109th Field Artillery Regiment/National Guard, serving for six years, and had a 30-year career at John Hancock Life Insurance, retiring in 1999.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25 and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 26 at Morello Funeral Home, 3720 Nicholas Street, in Palmer Township.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 26 at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Roman Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue in Palmer Township. Burial will be at Northampton Memorial Shrine, 3051 Green Pond Road, Palmer Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or St. Jane Frances de Chantal Roman Catholic Church.
