Stephen J. Niski Jr., 78, of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away on October 16, 2024 at Northampton County Post Acute. Born on September 24, 1946, in Easton, PA, Stephen was the son of the late Augustine (Passori) and Stephen Niski, Sr.

He graduated from Notre Dame High School, class of 1964 and worked for James River Paper Products. Stephen was a life member of Alert Hook & Ladder Co 1 Phillipsburg, NJ, where he and Veronica enjoyed doing the Christmas shopping and wrapping for the children's Christmas party. He also belonged to the NJ State Firemen's Association and NJ Fireman's Relief Association. Stephen's impact and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Stephen played Santa Clause for many years in several organizations he belonged to including Alert Hook and Ladder as well as many private homes for friends and family.  Stephen enjoyed many years of Saturday morning breakfast with his friends from the 11th and Spruce Street area where he was raised.  He enjoyed camping, flea markets and Disney while he and Veronica lived in Florida before returning to Phillipsburg.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Veronica (Morrow) Niski, his loving daughter, Stephanie Strausser, his brother John Niski, brothers-in-law Donald and Jan Morrow, sister-in-law Gail Hicks and her husband David and his cherished grandchildren, Austin Jaaziah and Jordyn Alexandria.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his daughter, Dr. Kara L. Niski, son-in-law L. Gene Strausser, Jr., sisters-in-law Arlene, brother-in-law Leon Yeziski & sister-in-law Ann Niski

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) An additional calling hour will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Northampton Memorial Shrine, Green Pond Road, Palmer Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Stephen's name to Joseph H.
