Steven C. Merring, 74, formerly of Phillipsburg passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024. Steve was born in Easton, PA on October 22, 1949, a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Tomko) Merring. He graduated from Phillipsburg High School, class of 1968 and served in the United States Army National Guard.

Steve's life was full of laughter and he would do almost anything to garner reaction from family and friends. He kept the joys of his childhood alive throughout his life with his own sense of humor and unique brand of wit… his love of old TV shows, movies, cars remained prevalent and he enjoyed sharing his unique brand of storytelling with anyone who would listen. He also had a green thumb and loved his gardening.

Steve is survived by his loving children, Janet L. Merring of Caribou, ME; Kevin Merring of Lopatcong Twp., NJ; Andrea Merring of Bloomsbury, NJ; Brian Merring of Bloomsbury, NJ; siblings, T. Michael Merring and his wife, Donna of Forks Twp.; Alan Merring of Easton; Susan Sinko of Forks Twp.; Scott Merring of Wilson Boro.; and seven grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Kohl and a brother-in-law, James Sinko.
