Susan R. Fairchild, 49, of Easton, PA, passed away on Sunday, August, 23, 2020 in her home, with her children at her side. Susan was born in Belleville, NJ and raised in Forks Township, a daughter of Cathy Rooney of Easton, and the late Michael Rooney.

It all started when they traded sandwiches in the cafeteria. Susan was married to Christopher M. Fairchild, with whom she celebrated 23 years of marriage last July 4 ^th . She was a graduate of Easton High School, class of 1989, and Penn State University, class of 1993, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Susan was a first grade teacher for the Philipsburg School District, where she touched the lives of many students, families and colleagues.

Passionate about her children's education and athletic endeavors, she wouldn't miss a game. She was known for her kind, quiet strength and friendship. Battling breast cancer, leukemia and CMV, she has demonstrated a prolonged resilience and positivity, to her final day.

In addition to her husband and mother, Susan is survived by her devoted and buoyant children Owen, Oliver and Ruby, brothers Michael Rooney and Kevin Rooney and many family members that love her dearly.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
