Obituary

Thomas V. Dales, 89, of Easton, was called to Heaven on Monday, June 06, 2022.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ on November 4, 1932, he was the son of the late Jennie (Wnukowski) Mitroka. Thomas attended Carteret High School. He enlisted in the United States Airforce and proudly served during the Korean War. Thomas worked at Foster Wheelers in Carteret as a welder, then the Woodbridge Sanitation Department and finally at GATX Chemical Plant in Carteret where he was a welder and truck loader.

While living in NJ Thomas was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Port Reading.  He was a member of the Elks Club in Woodbridge, NJ.  Upon moving to Pennsylvania, he joined St. Jane Frances de Chantel Catholic Church in Easton.

He enjoyed woodworking and was known for making wooden soldiers during the Christmas season. He liked to garden, tending to flowers, especially rhododendrons.  He was an avid movie lover and enjoyed the music from artists like Nat King Cole, Perry Como and Frankie Laine.  The generation he always said that made "real music".  He was proud to be a veteran and loved our country.

He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather and husband to his late wife Anna. His love and concern for his family was infinite.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth Dales and wife Susan from Waretown, NJ; daughter, Cynthia Gaffga and husband John from Nazareth; grandchildren, Brittany Pohida and husband Jerry, Matthew Dales; great grandchildren, Emily Pohida and Joseph Pohida; sister-in-law, Mary Schiano.

In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Anna M. (Schiano) Dales in June 2021, and their infant son Philip John Dales from 1959.
