Valda I. Parris-Smith, of Brooklyn, New York went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the St. Luke's Hospital in Easton, PA. She was 83 years old. Born in William Street, Kitty, Georgetown, Guyana on November 23, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel J. Parris and Phyllis Wilson. She was married to Neville Smith and together they built a life and family for over 67 years. Valda lived a humble and simple life, dedicated to her family, a life of never-ending love, generosity, and kindness. She lived for others, sacrificing her own needs to help make things better for her family and those whom she either took into her care and often into her home.

Valda is survived by her husband Neville, her sons; Rodford and Neil, her daughters; Claudette, Laura, Olive, Beverley, Evelyn, and Marcia, her grandchildren; Nicholas, Jinell and Colis, Louannie, Judah, Candace, Dondre and Suhai, Lisa, Alonzo and Kezia, Larenz, Christen, Christophe, Caelan, Caeneil, Kimberly, Ariel, Aaron and Amirah, and foster grand, Debbie, great grandchildren; Alyeea, Jasonie, Nathaniel, Jaden, Madison, Zoey, Khoen, and foster great-grands Jasmine, Aiden, and Divine, her sisters; Celestine Glen and Shirley Grant, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A viewing for Valda Parris-Smith, will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.). An additional viewing hour will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Greater Shiloh Church, 403 Pastor Fred Davis Street, Easton PA followed by the funeral service. Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery, Lower Nazareth Township.
