Born: She was born on May 16, 1922 in Wilson a daughter of the late Charles D. and Nora S. Scott Whitesell. Personal: Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband T. Michael Schafer, Jr. in 1973. She was employed at Transagram in Easton and later retiring from Avanti Bed Spread Factory in 1984. She attended Wilson Area High School. She thoroughly enjoyed crocheting and doll collecting, as well as shopping, yard sales and flea markets with her husband. Memberships: Virginia was a member of New Creation United Church of Christ in Palmer Twp. Survivors: Virginia is survived by her husband of 34 years, Samuel A. Franco; daughter Carol A. and husband Richard Picone of Bethlehem Twp.; daughter-in-law Vicki Schafer of Forks Twp.; step-son Gordon Franco and wife Debbie of Easton; 5 grandchildren Cheryl Ferry and husband Chris, Kevin Correll, Robin Bacon, Kraig Correll and wife Kathy, Joelle Drey and 10 great grandchildren, and numerous step-grandchildren and step- great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and first husband, Virginia is preceded in death by her son T. Michael Schafer III and her brother Charles V. Whitesell. Services: Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 5pm to 7 pm and Monday from 12:00 noon until 1 pm in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp.
