Viva Blase, of Wilson Borough, PA, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016, two weeks shy of her 102 birthday.

Viva was born on October 24, 1914 in Phillipsburg, NJ, a daughter of the late Daniel and Ida May (Lott) Eckhardt.

Viva was married to August Blase for 73 years before his passing in 2008. She was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church. Her life was devoted to her family and spending time with them.

Viva is survived by a daughter June Bachman and husband William of Palmer Twp., and their daughter Kristin Urmston and husband Brad, and their children Christopher, Benjamin and Leah; a son Augie Blase and wife Jill of Forida, and his children Kelly, Karen, and Karla; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers Cornell, Clifton, and Daniel Eckhardt.

A calling hour will be held on Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Palmer Twp., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in the church.
