Obituary

William "Bill" E. Collins, 82, formerly of Palmer Twp., PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at The Willow in Macungie.

Bill was born in Astoria, Queens, NY, the son of the late William J. and Emily M. (Loane) Collins.

Bill was married to the former Evelyn "Lyn" Klasek, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage last August. He was a graduate of Seton Hall High School, Patchogue, NY, class of 1954, and attended New York University. Bill was a Project Manager of Equitable Life Insurance Company. He served in the US Marine Corp. Reserve from 1953-1960. Bill enjoyed camping, bowling, photography, classical music, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed telling jokes, golfing, and was an avid fan of the Giants, Iron Pigs and the Yankees.

Bill was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church. He was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Assembly No. 941 in Easton. He Served as Grand Knight for Union Council #345 from 1976-1977.  He was a member of the Easton Exchange Club; former President of the Men of St. Jane's; former Vice-President of Palmer Republican Club; and Loaned Executive of United Way.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons William L. Collins and husband Steven Markuson of St. Louis, MO, Kevin G. Collins of Bethlehem; daughters Karen L. Dietz and husband Tom of Bethlehem, Darlene M. Sanderson and husband Bill of Emmaus, Cheryl A. Thatcher and husband Mike of Easton, Susan A. Jordan and husband Mike of Nazareth, Marilyn P. Sterner and husband Jim of McSherrystown, PA; a sister Geraldine Baxter of Ronkonkoma, NY; grandchildren Johnathon and Amanda Dietz; Elizabeth, Janet and Annmarie Sanderson; Megan Rios and husband Jon; Emily and Sean Collins; Allison and Steven Thatcher, Samantha, Danielle, and Cassidy Jordan; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a sister Dolores "DeeDee" Maier.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with an additional calling hour on Monday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 1:00 pm in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Palmer Twp. Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem, PA.
