William J. Yankowy, 93, of Nazareth, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 in St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem.
William was born in Nazareth, PA, a son of the late William M. and Julia (Dupschek) Yankowy.
William was married to the former Catherine M. DeBona, until her passing in February 2015. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a Central Controller for Essroc Cement Co. for 40 years until retiring.
William was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Bath Gun Club, and Bath Fire House.
William is survived by his sons Nicholas J. Yankowy and wife Michele of Easton, Michael A. Yankowy and wife Sharon of Cresco, PA; a daughter Juliann Garcia and husband Robert of Nazareth; his sisters Mary Clement of Bethlehem, Elizabeth Traupman of Nazareth; grandchildren Andrea, Tiffany, Brooke, Joshua, Kyle, Colleen, Brenda, Eric, Kiesha, Rob, Travis, Jessica; 21 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a son William P. Yankowy; brothers Stephen, Anthony, and Valentine Yankowy.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with an additional calling hour on Tuesday from 8:15 am to 9:15 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 am in Sacred Heart Church, Bath. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.
